Hawk is an internal and external martial art. In order to understand this one must first know the purpose of martial art. In its original state martial arts were more than something to be done after school, for fitness, to keep one out of trouble. No, martial art was not even an art. It was a combat training and health system, and finally for the most serious, it was a way of life.

The first great sages of martial art explored the human spirit and body and their relationship to their environs and created a way to move within the human body both physically and spiritually in order to maximize functionality, health and well being. Health systems. A way to protect oneself, one's body. Or to look at it another way, martial art was a way to endow the human body, mind and spirit with great health and power. This is the predecessor to what we call martial art or martial sport.

I endeavored for my own reason to put together a synergistic system using the body and spirit equally, hence the internal external martial art tag line. I've named this system Hawk for many reasons but the reader will best understand Hawk if he or she watches one video of a low flying Hawk seizing it's prey. Quick, decisive, powerful. I look at the Hawk signature play and am quickly reminded that I am creating Hawks with this system.

You probably scoff me. Wonder why I bother creating this site. A load of... you're saying. You see I opened this site because I grew tired of watching my students perform and have disbelieving judges lie about times...not believing their own watches. You tube, which still has a wealth of Hawk archive video had its flash limitations as you well know and you've probably seen by now how much clearer video directly from this site is. This site can only be beneficial to our presentation, to presenting my Dojo, my PerRa, my students to the world.

But I guess ultimately I've opened this site for myself. I am an almost  30 year martial artist now and a Master teacher and a sport lover. Hawk blends those loves. I could tell you so much about this system, how I blend the body, mind and spirit to have the student move the immovable, float and fly the wind, break the unbreakable. I could tell you that at 282lbs Brick Johnson floated across mud and covered 10 yards in 1.37 seconds from a standing 3-4 linebacker position. I could tell you how Anthony Grey ran a 4.2 40 yard dash at 245lbs. I could tell you how Brenton Hodge ran a 4.05 40 yard dash. I could tell you as you scoff me to look around. You've heard stories. The people who walk hot coal, snake charmers, women in accidents who rip car doors off to get to their trapped babies. Phil Jackson who coached Michael Jordan into meditation to become the dominant will upon his chosen path, and who is probably doing the same with Kobe. What's more there are few people on the planet who haven't seen t.v. demonstrations of brick breaking by martial artists which has been made more than understandable, but expected despite the seemingly impossibility for the average untrained person. No? Well if brick breaking is so easy, you do it. What if you could? The odds would be that few would understand the transformation you underwent in order to be able to...And what if a man knew these meditations, knew bio mechanics, knew martial arts and could help an individual change, to perform inside and out so that individual could and would do wondrous things?

Hawk would be born.
